Stephanie came to us with a penthouse that had everything - space, light, a prime location, but felt like it belonged to no one. She had lived in Japan and wanted that presence in her home with intention and warmth in every detail.
We began with a home visit. Six months of planning, design development and material sourcing followed. Then nine months of construction, managed entirely by our team and craftsmen, from the entrance hall to the bathroom to the bedroom.

Founded by Charlotte Wiessner
Charlotte got her degree at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, where Walter Gropius's founding idea still holds: that architecture, interiors and art cannot be separated. It is the philosophy every CARLO project is built on.
She refined her European sensibility at the studio of Tomás Alía in Madrid, one of Spain's most respected design practices, before founding CARLO Design in 2015. She now leads a team of designers and architects across our offices in Berlin and Mallorca.
